Visitaksorn Building

Visitaksorn Building is new building of Thammasat University Rangsit Campus that located across the SC Canteen. The features that catch the attention of pedestrians is the reddish orange stair, the colour of the building and the wide open space of the building. Apart from the SC building, Visitaksorn is used as a second central learning building.

This building is the second building of the six smart and friendly constructed building that the university has planed to help conserve the environment.

The building space is 6,712 square metre and it consist 4 floors. It is also considered as a smart architectural building that saves the energy up to 43%; considering by the flow of heat in the building in which is measured by the materials built which are the walls and roof (OTTV and RTTV,) and also the electricity and energy that is used. And it has been approved by Department of Alternative Energy Department and Efficiency(DEDE) 2559 that the building itself is rewarded in the category of Building Energy Co.(BEC) to be a good building.

The designer of this building is Kornkamon Tantivanich, Assistant Professor from the Faculty of Architecture Thammasat University, specialised in Green Building Design and Energy Performance and Management, mentioned that his modern friendly buildings highlight feature is the building's wide open space and the ceiling's of the building which allows natural lighting to illuminate the entire building instead of using electricity. Moreover, the building is constructed facing in the direction of the north and south. This makes the wind flow through the building and does not trap the heat inside the building.
